MEDICAL AND PSYCHIATRIC PROVIDER SUMMIT

What Psychiatrists Can Learn from Primary Care Doctors on Treating Obesity, Diabetes, Cholesterol, Hypertension, and Tobacco Use and What Primary Care Providers Can Learn from Psychiatrists about Behavioral Health was a 6-hour intensive workshop that provided an overview of integrated care for medical staff with emphasis on integrating primary care into behavioral health. Improving the lives and lifespans of our patients with serious mental illness is an important role for psychiatric and primary care providers. Participants learned about how primary care providers and psychiatric providers can join forces to turn the tide on this significant health disparity.

This summit was a unique opportunity for prescribers working in integrated care to learn from each other and from two different curricula designed for psychiatric and primary care providers working in integrated care.
