The Past, Present, & Future of Federal Government’s Commitment to Addressing the Impact of Trauma on Women

DESCRIPTION: Trauma affects all aspects of society, and the Federal Government is addressing this issue in some very cross-cutting ways. This webinar is the first of a three-part webinar series sponsored by the Women and Trauma Federal Partners Committee. This first webinar will discuss the work of the Women and Trauma Federal Partner’s Committee; highlight the impact of the Committee’s work through an initiative launched by the Peace Corps, one of the participating agencies on the Committee; and highlight additional materials and resources.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Participants will:

  • Better understand the scope and depth of the impact of trauma in the lives of women and girls
  • Describe the purpose of the Women and Trauma Federal Partner’s Committee
  • Identify key activities and accomplishments of the Committee
  • Understand core components of a trauma-informed approach
  • Discuss one of the many impacts of the Committee’s work through the educational initiative of the Peace Corps
  • Identify strategies to leverage the Women and Trauma Federal Partner’s Committee as a resource for their own work to address the impact of trauma and to implement trauma-informed approaches.
