Target audience
Physicians, nurses, social workers, mental health providers, advanced practice clinicians and
other health care providers caring for patients with combined medical and mental health
problems. 

Objectives 

  1. State the major national trends and policies impacting the integration of primary care and behavioral health.
  2. Create a business plan to support the integration of primary care and behavioral health.
  3. Review the challenges of chronic, non-communicable disease management.
  4. Cite the benefits of integrated health care models.
  5. Discuss mental health knowledge resources for the integration of mental health in primary care.
  6. Identify strategies for clinician skill development in mental health care of primary care patients.
  7. Review the history of integrated mental health care in the US and the world.
  8. Analyze recent research findings of integrated care models.
  9. Describe the similarities and differences between evaluation and research studies.
  10. Describe critical components in an evaluation study.
  11. Clarify concepts of integrated medicine practices through case discussions.
