Start Date: July 17, 2014
End Date: July 17, 2014
Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) Network webinar
2:00 PM - 3:30 PM EDT
Does technology hold the answer to integrating substance use treatment into primary care? In this iTraining, Dr. Lisa Marsch and Dr. Dave Gustafson will discuss their NIDA-funded research project, “Integrating technology-assisted drug treatment and relapse prevention in FQHCs.” The project is testing a new system, Seva (s?’va; the Hindi word for “caring”) in three federally qualified health centers (FQHCs). Seva combines the web-based Therapeutic Education System (TES), developed by Dr. Marsch, with Addiction CHESS (A-CHESS), the smartphone-based recovery support system developed by Gustafson’s team at the Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies. Research studies of TES and
A-CHESS provide strong empirical support for their effectiveness. The Seva project integrates both systems to help FQHC staff provide care to patients with substance use disorders.
