The emergence of clinical drug testing beyond the “gotcha” forensic approach has offered a clinical tool that advocates for clients and offers scientific data for therapeutic planning. This webinar will highlight recommendations from the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s white paper on drug testing, describe various testing processes, and show how to use testing to support treatment and recovery.

Learning objectives

  • Articulate how medication monitoring, including urine drug testing (UDT), provides an evidence-based monitoring tool that can enhance the clinician-patient relationship
  • Differentiate the clinical value and advantages of various testing methodologies
  • Introduce UDT to your patients as a mutually beneficial component of their treatment plan
