Implementing Recovery-oriented Practices: Assessing strengths and priorities

Start Date: April 05, 2016
End Date: April 05, 2016
Location:
Event Details:

Time: 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. ET
Presenters: Dr. Wesley Sowers, M.D. and Dr. Janis Tondora, Psy.D.

Recovery-oriented practices move beyond the conventional policies and structures of most behavioral health agencies, necessitating a transformation of behavioral health services. But what do recovery-oriented services look like? What are essential recovery-oriented workforce practices and skills? How do we tailor our change efforts to be most effective for our organization and lead to better outcomes for the people we serve?

Over the past decade, several tools have been developed to help agencies and practitioners learn about the profound changes required to implement recovery-oriented practices. This webinar expands on themes from the March 2016 Recovery to Practice newsletter to explore tools for incorporating recovery values and approaches into organizational culture, policies, and practices. The presenters will discuss two user-friendly tools for assessing areas of strength as well as developing a profile of priority areas to help tailor training, consultation, and other organizational change efforts.
