The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is hosting this kick-off event for National Prevention Week 2016 in partnership with Morgan State University. The fifth year of this annual health observance will be held May 15-21, 2016. National Prevention Week showcases communities that are making a difference in overall community health by increasing public awareness of, and action around, mental health and/or substance use disorders. This year’s theme is “Strong As One. Stronger Together,” highlighting that while one person can make a positive difference in their community, when we join together we can achieve a greater impact with our prevention efforts.
