SAMHSA Listening Session: 42 CFR part 2

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) announces that it will hold a public listening session on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. ET, to solicit information concerning the Confidentiality of Substance Use Disorder Patient Records regulation (42 CFR part 2) as required by Section 11002 of the 21st Century Cures Act (P.L. 114-255). The listening session will provide an opportunity for the public to provide input to SAMHSA concerning the effect of part 2 on “patient care, health outcomes, and patient privacy” as well as potential regulatory changes and future subregulatory guidance.

The Listening Session is open to the public via teleconference/webcast and in person.

-Teleconference/Webcast (Requires Prior Registration): The entire proceeding will be streamed live over the Internet (requires prior registration). Information about joining the teleconference/webcast will be sent to those who register prior to the meeting.

-In Person (Requires Prior Registration): The address for this meeting is 5600 Fishers Lane, Pavilion Rooms, 5th floor, Rockville, Maryland 20857. The building is a federal facility, which requires prior registration. A security screening and a federally-approved identification (e.g., driver’s license) are required for entry.

Early registration is highly recommended. Capacity for both in-person and teleconference/webcast participation is limited. Registration on Eventbrite is required. The Listening Session will be recorded.

Webcast Listener. These tickets are for people who want to watch and listen to the teleconference/webcast but not make comments.

Webcast Attendee-Plans to Comment. These tickets are for people who want to watch and listen to the teleconference/webcast and make comments.

In-person Attendee. These tickets are for people who want to attend the live session but not make comments.

In-person Attendee-Plans to Comment. These tickets are for people who want to attend the live session and make comments.
