Funding for Rural Regions to Integrate HIV, Substance Use Services

Funding for Rural Regions to Integrate HIV, Substance Use Services

Two new federal funding opportunities are available to help find solutions to the opioid use and overdose crisis in the nation's rural regions. Both initiatives include a focus on coal-impacted counties within Appalachia, as well as rural communities in other parts of the country and will support comprehensive, integrated approaches to prevent opioid injection and its consequences, including substance use disorder, overdose, HIV and hepatitis C virus infection, along with associated conditions, such as hepatitis B virus infection and sexually transmitted diseases. Learn more about the two funding opportunities: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-DA-17-014.html and http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/rfa-files/RFA-DA-17-023.html.
